You will be able to explore the 2022 VIC virtually by joining Gather Town.  See vendor booths, attend panels and events and find hidden Easter eggs throughout.

Welcome to the STARFLEET VIC virtual space in Gather.Town.  If you want the "conference space" experience vs just watching the video stream, this is where you'll find it.  You'll be able to explore the space, talk with others, see featured booths and pop into the live stream of this year's VIC.  Gather.Town does have a limit to the number of people who can access it at the same time so if the space if full, you can watch the live stream here on the website, YouTube or Facebook and just check back in a little while to visit Gather.Town.

Gather.Town is a web-conferencing software like Zoom, but with the added component of seeing the virtual “room” you and others are occupying and with the ability to move around and interact with other participants based on your locations in the room, just like real-life. Users easily start and end side conversations and chats or return to the main speaker, just as at a real-world conference or other gatherings. Rather than being moved to a Zoom breakout room, in Gather.Town, you can simply walk your online self to tables and chairs, sit down, and start a conversation.

There's even a fun scavenger hunt that you can participate in.

The graphics in Gather.Town are basic and run on a wide range of computers with minimal lag. The low-res graphics are not a significant barrier to using the system.
